Short answer
Yes, according to Oura. Its US page says the ring and the membership ($5.99 a month or $69.99 a year) can be paid for or reimbursed from an HSA or FSA, along with extra chargers, shipping and taxes. Extended protection plans are not eligible. Some account providers may ask for a letter of medical necessity, so check with yours first.
What Oura says is covered
Oura's FSA and HSA page lists the ring, the membership, extra chargers, shipping, taxes and its Health Panels blood tests as eligible. Extended Protection Plans are not. The membership became eligible in December 2023. You can pay with your HSA or FSA card at checkout, or pay another way and submit the receipt for reimbursement.
The catch: your plan decides
Eligibility is ultimately decided by your HSA or FSA administrator, not the seller. Oura says most providers don't require a letter of medical necessity, but some may. The IRS rule behind this is in Publication 502: medical expenses do not include things that are merely beneficial to general health. That is why some administrators want a clinician's note before they reimburse a wellness device. A two-minute call or a look at your plan's eligible-items list avoids a denied claim.
What it costs
In the US, the Oura membership is $5.99 a month or $69.99 a year, with the first month free for new members. Oura Ring 4 lists from $349, but the store runs frequent sales, so check the current price before you buy. Paying with pre-tax HSA or FSA money lowers your real cost by roughly your tax rate. Whether the ring is worth it is a separate question; see our page on how accurate it is.
