What do you want to know?

Before you buy, we’d ask you

Do you already get yearly bloodwork?

Ask your doctor to add ApoB and Lp(a) first. Insurance may cover it.

Will you act on the results?

A test only helps if you or your doctor will do something with it.

Thinking about a full-body MRI?

The American College of Radiology doesn’t recommend it for healthy adults. About 1 in 3 people get an incidental finding.

What people ask

Is Function Health worth it?

It’s $365 for the first year: 160+ tests over two draws at Quest labs, with a clinician summary. Worth it if you want breadth and tracking. The four highest-evidence numbers cost about $180 on their own. The renewal price isn’t published, and there are no refunds.

Is Function Health HSA or FSA eligible?

Function says yes. Quest and Labcorp OnDemand accept HSA and FSA cards too, and so does Mito. Your plan administrator has the final say.

Can a blood test detect cancer?

Not these ones. Routine panels measure heart, metabolic and organ markers. Cancer screening is a separate decision with its own trade-offs, so talk to your doctor about what applies to you.

Does Function Health sell your data?

Function publishes a privacy policy and a separate consumer health data notice, as do Quest and Everlywell. We can only tell you what they publish, so read them before you buy.

Is ApoB better than LDL?

ApoB counts the particles that actually enter artery walls, so it tracks risk more closely than LDL cholesterol in many people. We decoded it here: longevitycoded.com/decoded/apob-test/.

Which states can’t buy these tests?

Quest names Arizona, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Superpower doesn’t serve 9 states. InsideTracker needs a paid mobile draw in several states. Labcorp tells you at checkout. Always check before you pay.

How we make money

Some “Check US price” links may earn us a commission. Brands can’t pay for a pass, a rank or a rating, and we list options that pay us nothing when they’re better for you.
