What the label says
Section 16.2 of the Zepbound prescribing information covers storage. Keep it refrigerated at 36 to 46 °F, which is 2 to 8 °C. Do not freeze, and do not use it if it has been frozen. Keep it in the original carton to protect it from light, and away from heat. The single-dose pen and single-dose vial may be stored unrefrigerated at up to 86 °F, 30 °C, for a total of 21 days if needed, which covers travel.
The multi-dose presentations
The multi-dose vial and the KwikPen have their own rule. Unopened, they can stay refrigerated until the expiry date, or be discarded 30 days after being left at room temperature. Once opened, either refrigerate or keep at room temperature, and discard after 30 days or after four weekly doses, whichever comes first, even if medicine remains.
Missed dose and travel
The label’s missed-dose rule: take it within four days, 96 hours, of the scheduled time; if more than four days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on the usual day. The weekly dosing day can be changed as long as doses are at least three days apart. Those are the label’s instructions to prescribers and patients; your prescriber can confirm how they apply to you.
