Yes, two are FDA-approved. The Wegovy pill, oral semaglutide 25 mg, was approved on 22 December 2025 and produced about 13.6% average weight loss over 64 weeks in its trial. Foundayo, Lilly’s orforglipron, was approved on 1 April 2026 and produced about 11.2% at the top dose over 72 weeks. Self-pay prices run $149 to $349 a month at the makers’ pharmacies.
The two approved pills
The Wegovy pill is the same semaglutide molecule as the Wegovy injection, in a daily 25 mg tablet. It must be taken in the morning on an empty stomach with up to 4 oz of water, followed by a 30-minute wait before food or other pills, because the peptide is fragile in the gut. Foundayo is different: orforglipron is a small molecule, not a peptide, so it can be taken with or without food.
How well they work
In OASIS 4, 307 adults on the Wegovy pill lost about 13.6% of body weight over 64 weeks versus 2.2% on placebo. In ATTAIN-1, 3,127 adults on orforglipron lost 7.5%, 8.4% and 11.2% at the three doses over 72 weeks versus 2.1% on placebo, on the stricter treatment-regimen measure; Lilly markets a 12.4% figure from a different analysis. The injections still lead: Zepbound reached about 20.9% at its top dose in SURMOUNT-1. Different trials, so compare with care.
Price and the fine print
NovoCare lists the Wegovy pill at $149 for 1.5 mg, $199 for 4 mg and $299 for 9 mg and 25 mg. LillyDirect lists Foundayo at $149 to $299 depending on dose, with the two highest strengths at $299 under a refill program or $349 otherwise, and some prices reduced until 31 December 2026. Both pills carry the same thyroid boxed warning as the injections, and the FDA required extra safety studies for Foundayo after approval.
